Diplomas were also awarded to teachers who guided young people in developing their business plans and joined them at regional and national competitions.

It is important to note the increasing popularity of the contest: If in the first edition of the national competition in 2015 we had only 9 participants then in 2017 the number of participants practically doubled to 18 business plans and 20 participants. The number and quality of the plans submitted for competitions organized at regional level increased from 78 to 99 plans.

At this year’s edition for the first time students from the colleges subordinated to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry participated in the contest.

All 20 contestants (2 business plans were presented by 2 people each) had 10 minutes to convince committee members that their business plan is feasible.

In this competition were presented ideas related to the specifics of the chosen profession as well as innovative ideas.

One of them would be the production and processing of energy willow. The wonder plant can replace firewood and coal. The innovative idea was presented by Magdalena Marievschi from the village of Pohoarna, Soldanesti district. The young woman is determined to build her future in her village, being helped by family money, relatives and friends.

Graduate of the Balti Center of Excellence, Magdalena was very confident about the implementation of the business. Besides the desire to increase her incomes, she offers people a chance to save wood and coal. “Gas and diesel are expensive, and energy willow has a high calorific value that replaces wood and coal. Pellets are produced from willow that will lower people’s bills. It does not pollute the air. It does not have gas emissions, “argues the young woman the economic importance of her business. In order to achieve this, the young woman intends to apply to the grant program in order to get some of the necessary financial resources. She quits the university to develop her business.

Magdalena does not want to go to university because she thinks she’s wasting time and spends money in vain. Optimistic, communicative and with organizational skills, she already knows how and where she will sell her raw material. “The energy willow will be given to producers of briquettes and pellets. With my money I will buy my briquetting machine, and later I will make my own willow pellets, “says the young woman. In our country we have companies that make pellets from straw, but that does not scare Magdalena, who is sure that companies will sign salvage processing contracts.

“The apparatus is the same, even if it produces straw. They will accept, because salvia is of high quality and has a very high calorific value. They profit will come from the transaction, “Magdalena says.

Polina Ivanova, however, thought of a snail farm:

“There are many common snails in the south of Moldova, but not to harm the environment, I will buy from other companies …” Polina would like to sell snails across the country – “In Moldova is not a prospect of development, I will be more focused on exporting to the countries of Europe. There such business ideas are highly appreciated. They are used in medicine, in food industry, medical procedures are being done …

And if some dream being entrepreneurs, these two young people, Alexandru and Silviu Ceban, students of the National College of Commerce in Chisinau, have already earned their first money from the business started a few months ago. They make websites and promote them online.

The boys have been specialized in accounting, but they are closer to the “heart” of the IT field, that is why they have studied themselves how to advertise online and promote social networks. To start such a business, young people needed a solid computer and knowledge in on-line marketing. The most common problem of the IT service provider is the mind and fear of our consumer to try something new.

Alex Ceban “The February income amounted 35,000 lei.” Young people say it is sometimes hard to convince their clients”.

Alex Ceban “Companies that did not have any tangency with the internet are very hard to convince the internet can be a source of customers.” The boys say that it is possible to start a business without much money: “I had a scholarship, I learned well in the college, I had 400 lei and he had 400 lei …”.

Eugenia Gîrlea, a young woman from Criuleni District, passionate about fashion design, wishes to open a tailoring workshop in the House of Culture in the village of Slobozia–Dusca.

The local public authorities say they are ready to support the young entrepreneur to create some jobs in the village.

“I like to create the beautiful, to see people dressed nice and, I like to create different clothes, to become a recognized fashion designer” Eugenia Gîrlea said, one of the prize-winners of the contest.

Eugenia came to the competition with her mother, recently turned from work abroad, who says she is proud of her daughter’s ambition – “I wish her a lot of health and success further,” said the winner’s mother, Angela Gîrlea.

“The participants in the contest came up with innovative ideas, with a spirit of initiative, and in the preparation for this contest, they also learned entrepreneurial skills. Children can handle economic terminology very easily and, at all, have come up with very interesting ideas. We will continue to encourage them to take the first steps towards their own business in a competitive business environment. They will also be able to apply for a grant program for graduates of the technical vocational schools in the country to implement their idea … “,

said CEDA Executive Director, Sofia Şuleanschi

Pius FRICK, LED REPRESENTATIVE IN MOLDOVA, mentioned

“It is important for entrepreneurial education to develop entrepreneurial competence and the spirit of initiative of young people.”
