Career Management: Successes and Prospects

Today, May 27, 2020, the conference on “Career Management: Successes and Prospects” took place.

The purpose of the conference: Capitalize the results of piloting the Module “Career Management” by identifying the successes and prospects of institutionalizing the Module in institutions providing in-service trainings for teachers and administrators.

The conference was attended by representatives of institutions providing in-service training for teachers and managers, the REVOCC II project team from the Center for Entrepreneurial Education and Business Support (CEDA), representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECR) and Austrian Development Agency (ADA), beneficiaries of training programs implemented under the project between May 2019 and May 2020.

Four Universities and three Centers of Excellence presented the experience gained and new perspectives for the in-service Module “Career Management” in their institutions.

Between September 2019 and May 2020, 15 trainers trained by CEDA trained over 863 teachers and administrators in general and technical vocational secondary education.

The major results of the Conference are as follows:

– The State University of Moldova, the State University of Comrat, the State University of Physical Education and Sports and the State University “Alecu Russo” of Balti have diversified their in-service education offer by introducing the module on “Career Management” in the programs training of teachers and managers, including the discipline “Personal development”, but also as a separate module, at choice.

– The State University of Comrat included the Module, as a separate course, in the second year master’s degree, specialization “Educational Management”.

– The Center of Excellence in Construction, the Center of Excellence in Services and Food Processing and the Center of Excellence in Light Industry have developed for the first time in-service training services in “Career Management” and “Personal Development”.

Thanks to the combined actions carried out by CEDA in partnership with MECR, within the REVOCC II project, a good part of the teaching and administrative staff in general and vocational technical secondary education will have access to in-service training programs in “Career Management”. The teachers involved in the training will develop the competence to plan their own career but also the competence to guide students in their careers, offering them support in the process of informing about the world of professions and the labor market, career decisions, employment, etc.

The conference takes place within the project Re-engeneering Vocational Orientation and Career Counseling – REVOCC II, implemented by the Center for Entrepreneurial Education and Business Support (CEDA) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECR) and the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM), with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
